How Hubwayz Works: One Platform or One API to Run Your Travel Business

Hubwayz connects your travel business to hundreds of hotel, activity, transfer, and event suppliers through one platform or one API. You search, book, price, and get paid from a single login.

Most agencies and wholesalers run four to six supplier portals side by side. Every one of those is its own login and its own price format, and each is one more place a booking can quietly fall through. Hubwayz puts all of it behind a single connection. You get live inventory, your markup applied automatically, payments handled, and reporting that tells you what actually sold. This is how Hubwayz works. Teams that consolidate onto it book 40% more and win back roughly 60% of the hours they used to lose to back-office work, according to Hubwayz client data. There are two ways to run it: the Full Platform and the API, both covered below.

What does Hubwayz actually do?

Hubwayz is the layer between your team and every supplier you sell. Picture it with suppliers on one end and your agents on the other. It plugs into hundreds of bed banks, wholesalers, and direct hotel contracts, and carries transfers, sports, activities and events on the same line. Your agents work from one clean screen: they search live rates, weigh options, add your margin, and confirm. The awkward middle is where Hubwayz earns its keep. It merges duplicate hotels and fixes mismatched room names, converts prices into your client’s currency, and fires off a branded voucher the second a booking confirms. The same engine watches credit limits, runs the billing cycle, and logs the profit on every line. None of this is bolted together from separate tools. One login takes a booking from first search to final payment, so your team does less manual work and keeps a tighter grip on what agents see and what you charge.

Two ways that Hubwayz works: Full Platform or API

The Hubwayz works in two ways. The right one depends on whether you’d rather sell from our interface or wire the same engine into your own.

The Full Platform is the no-build option: a complete web interface that already works. Your agents log in and start booking the same day, with no development work on your side. Everything’s in it from the start, from searching and comparing to booking, payments, documents, and the reporting that ties them together.

API Connectivity flips that around. You take the same inventory and booking engine and run it behind your own front end, whether that’s your website, your agent tool, or your back office. Your developers maintain one integration instead of fifty, and Hubwayz runs supplier mapping, data normalization, and price management underneath it.

Both modes draw on the same supplier network and the same profit, payment, and mapping engine. The only difference is the front end: our interface, or yours.

How does the Hubwayz platform work day to day?

For an agent, a booking on the Full Platform takes four steps.

First, search: enter a destination or hotel name, the dates, and the room and traveller count, up to six rooms with six adults and six children each, then set the client’s country of origin. Live rates come back from every connected supplier at once. Slower ones keep feeding in behind them, so the list grows while you are already scanning it.

Second, compare: filter by price, board type, star rating, or location, and shortlist rooms with the Heart Comparison Tool to email a client a side-by-side table.

Third, book: confirm the property, add the guest names, and set the markup, either as a percentage or as the final price the client pays. One more click sets the payment method and the booking is done.

Fourth, manage: every reservation sits in the Bookings module afterwards, so you can change the dates, cancel, bolt on an extra service, or send the voucher out again.

Your last ten searches stay one click away too, so you rarely retype the same query twice.

How does the Hubwayz API work?

The API follows the same logic your agents would, in calls your system makes on its own. You authenticate once, then run the booking flow end to end.

Step one is authentication. You send your credentials and get a login token back, so you are not re-sending account details on every call.

Step two is search: your system submits a search, then polls for results as suppliers respond, and polls again to pull in better rates as they arrive.

Step three is pre-book: a quick call that locks the live price and availability and returns the cancellation policy before you commit.

Step four is book: you confirm with a payment method, including virtual credit cards, and get back a confirmed reference.

Cancel and booking-details calls cover everything after the sale.

Your developers build against one set of endpoints. Mapping, deduplication, and currency conversion run on the Hubwayz side, so your team never maintains a direct supplier connection again.

This is how Hubwayz works behind every booking

Whichever mode you choose, the same controls run underneath every transaction.

The markup engine does the pricing for you. Set your rules once, by account, agent, destination, supplier, or service type, and the Profit Growth Tools apply them on every booking. That automation is where the 40% average profit increase comes from. It is margin you defined, enforced without anyone touching a spreadsheet.

Different suppliers list the same hotel under different names, with rooms labelled every which way. Hotel & Room Mapping sorts that out for you. It merges the duplicates and standardizes the room names, so an agent sees one clean listing instead of five versions of the same place. Fewer wrong-room bookings, fewer support tickets to chase.

The Payment Solution handles money end to end. It issues virtual credit cards, takes card payments online, and sits alongside account credit, bank transfer, and cash. The system enforces credit limits automatically, so a defaulting account cannot quietly run up exposure.

Branded vouchers, invoices, and statements generate on their own the moment a booking confirms, and the reporting shows what sold, to whom, and at what margin.

Full Platform vs API Connectivity: which fits?

How the two deployment modes compare.

What you’re comparing Full Platform API Connectivity
Setup Log in and book the same day, no development One integration your team builds against
Front end The Hubwayz web interface Your own website, agent tool, or back office
Best suited to Agencies and DMCs that want to sell now Wholesalers and tech teams keeping their own experience
Supplier network Hundreds of hotel, activity, transfer, and event suppliers The same network, the same engine
Ongoing maintenance Handled by Hubwayz One API to maintain; mapping handled by Hubwayz
Time to live Same day Weeks, not the months a direct-integration project takes
Typical outcome Agents selling immediately with markup and payments built in One supply, pricing, and payment layer behind your own product

Which option is right for your business?

If your priority is selling, start with the Full Platform. An agency or DMC can have agents booking the same day, with markup, vouchers, and payments already working. You get the whole system without writing a line of code.

If you have a developer team and a front end you want to keep, go with API Connectivity. Your site or agent tool stays yours, and Hubwayz becomes the supply, pricing, and payment layer behind it. Wholesalers distributing to their own buyer networks usually land here.

Plenty of businesses run both at once. Agents work in the platform while the same account feeds bookings into a custom B2C site through the API. You are not locked into one path, because both sit on the same account, the same suppliers, and the same profit rules.

This is the setup travel businesses around the world already run on, from Innstant Travel and Arkia to Tal Aviation Group. It tends to go the same way. A team that used to juggle five or six supplier logins drops to one, the morning spent reconciling numbers across portals goes away, and the margin that quietly leaked through manual pricing now gets caught on every booking. The 4.9 out of 5 support rating is there for the scary part: moving a live booking operation onto new rails. That is the bit Hubwayz does alongside you, not the bit you do alone.

How does Hubwayz work: Frequent Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Hubwayz Full Platform and API Connectivity?

The Full Platform is a ready-to-use web interface your agents log into and book from the same day, with no development. API Connectivity is that same engine without our interface. You connect by API and run inventory, booking, pricing, and payments behind your own site or back office. Underneath, both options share one supplier network and one set of pricing, payment, and mapping tools.

How long does it take to go live on Hubwayz?

It depends on the mode. On the Full Platform there’s nothing to build, so agents can start booking the same day, with search, payments, and documents already in place. The API takes longer because your team writes the integration, but they write it once, against a single set of endpoints, rather than wiring up dozens of suppliers one at a time. That is weeks of work rather than the months a direct-integration project takes.

Does Hubwayz only handle hotels?

No. Hubwayz covers hotels, activities, events, and transfers from the same connection. You can start with hotels and add the other product types when you are ready, without changing platforms or building anything new.

How does Hubwayz works with payments?

The Payment Solution issues virtual credit cards, takes online card payments, and works alongside account credit, bank transfer, cash, and cheque. The system enforces credit limits automatically, so an account that has not paid cannot book again unless it pays by card at the time of booking.

Can I set different markups for different agents or clients?

Yes. The markup rules apply at every level of your chain: by account, agent, destination, origin country, city, service type, or supplier. You set the rule once and the Profit Growth Tools apply it automatically on every matching booking, either as a net percentage or as a commission off the gross price.
